Solgerd Isalv is an interesting young Swedish mezzo-soprano and actress, known for her broad knowledge and praised for her beautiful voice timbre and remarkable stage presence.
As a student of acting as well as lied and opera perfomance she received numerous prestigious grants and for her performance of Cherubino, in the State Theatre Nuremberg production of Le Nozze di Figaro 2015, she was nominated as best upcoming singer of the year, in the magazine Opernwelt.
Highlights among her roles on the operatic stage include Wellgunde, Hänsel, Lucretia, Carmen and Siébel.
As a concert soloist Solgerd Isalv often sings sacral works as passions and oratories by J.S.Bach, W.A. Mozart or G.Rossini but also later repertoire such as E.Elgar’s Sea Pictures, M.Ravel’s Shéhérazade, Bernstein’s Jeremiah and Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder. Solgerd Isalv is in demand as a performer of contemporary music.
